What Will I Learn?

• How to use manual setting  for night skies (you must know how to access and be comfortable with your manual settings, unfortunately this is not a photography 101 class)

• Focusing at night

• How to capture the milky way (summer only June-September)

• Long Exposure • Light Painting

• Star trails and links to free blending software

• A general astronomy course to find the milky way  (summer only June-September)

• My favorite free apps

• Advance camera technique

• Some verbal post processing tips

• Create stunning panoramas

• Work with Long Exposures

• Managing ISO


What to Bring:

• Tripod, shutter release , camera (DSLR that can perform in manual )M) mode. For Canon shooters please know how to access your manual settings, wide angle lens at least 24mm f/2.8 but f/3.5 can do the job. See your local camera store about rentals or on-line at

• 2 Charged batteries 

• Empty SD Cards (at least  16GB)

• Water

• Bug Repellent

Workshop Does Not Include:

• Transportation
